Penny ProMount roof mounts are 304 stainless steel and allow you to connect to the factory RAM Promaster T-roof studs without damaging your roof or trapping dirt or water. The Penny Promount sandwiches the stud between layers of stainless steel and allows you to use standard Unistrut to create an affordable but secure roof rack for your DIY van build.

When building our campervan we knew we wanted a roof rack for our solar panels but roof rack kits are big bulky and expensive and many of the DIY mounts push down on the thin sheet metal on the roof and trapped moisture and dirty underneath.

We wanted something low profile, inexpensive, and easy to keep clean of debris! So Andy but his engineering skills to work and designed the Penny ProMount, a roof mount system that utilizes the Promaster's existing roof studs but instead of leveraging against the roof it sandwiches the top of the stud in between layers of stainless steel, leaving the roof clear.

Using our Penny ProMounts, with just $70 of Unistrut, we had the roof rack we needed to mount 750 watts of solar on our 157 wheelbase Promaster and now you can too! Penny Promounts are stainless steel to prevent rust, easy to install, and made for DIY van builders by DIY van builders.

IMPORTANT:
  • The maximum load for the ProMaster roof studs is 55lb (25Kg) per stud or 330lb (150Kg) total. Do not exceed!!
  • Bolts must be properly torqued to: 75 in-lbs (8.5Nm).
  • All roof installations must use at least three roof studs with at least one on the driver side and one on the passenger side.
